Description

Finally finished this sheet! So I will be modeling this little guy for my assignment and then texturing him. What I want to know is, out of the 3 color palettes above, which one is your favorite? Normal, Spirit, or Nature?

I will be modeling, retopolozing, UV-ing AND texturing this little guy! Wish me luck!

I actually like normal the most. I really like the colors you chose, the bright orange is perky and kinda "pops" on the abundance of white and just gives this cute and playful look and I just wanna snuggle the little guy. It's a standard fox palette and look, but little changes like the extra-long white on the legs and the black tipped paws, ears, and tail give it character. It's simple but it doesn't need to be complex to have charm.

I love the glossy look on the beads for Spirit, you colored them gorgeously. I don't actually care for the fox's colors that much on their own, though, they don't stand out to me. If it had a sort of "ethereal" effect on the model it'd look great, though, such as translucency and the property of not being affected by the shadowing engine, perhaps even varying levels of translucency based on the brightness of its colors... along with particle effects like a fog cloud or sparkles at its feet, possibly even a subtle texture animation to make it "glow" or the lighter areas "pulse" too. But if you can't do those, I'd say stick to one of the other two designs.

I really like the patterns on the nature design, they've got this fancy style to them that gives it a lot of character, and the soft gradients on its whitened bits give it a warm feeling. I do wonder if the patterns might be a little tricky to get 1:1 in a model though. Compared to the normal fox, this one looks more subdued and calm, like it would walk about gracefully rather than hop around playfully. I like the use of a reddish brown over a normal brown, and it kinda furthers that "warm" look. This is a fox I could see more being a wise and guiding little figure, compared to the other which looks more like it'd be bouncing around having fun and/or making mischief. The weathered stone beads give it that "long-lived" look, too, which furthers the initial impression.

Ultimately I mean you obviously go with whichever you want, if not doing them all. What do you plan to do with them? Do you plan on rigging them too so they could be animated? I'm actually really curious.
